Jollibee’s Latest Tribute To Untiring Dads Is A Tearjerker So Prepare YourselfFor the dads who never give up for their family.by Kitty Elicay .
Fathers are just as important as mothers, and Jollibee’s latest tribute — uploaded in time for Father’s Day on Sunday, June 20, 2021 — highlights the untiring dads who do all that they can to provide for the family.
The ad, posted on YouTube on June 16, has already raked in more than a million views. Entitled ‘Maestro,’ it features the story of a happy-go-lucky barber who loves to ‘tip’ his helpful son and daughter with Jollibee meals after a hard day’s work.
But we all know what happened when the COVID-19 pandemic hit — it affected the jobs and livelihood of many Filipinos, including small businesses like barbershops, which were forced to close or downsize because of quarantine restrictions. With bills piling up and no customers coming for their haircuts, Maestro was forced to close down his shop.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Despite the challenges, the fast food chain sent an uplifting message — and also showed that no matter the challenge, dads will always find a way.
Throughout the video, Maestro kept looking at a sign that served as a reminder of how he treasures his family: “’Pag ayaw may dahilan, ‘pag mahalaga, laging may paraan.”
It was the motivation that he needed to shift into a new income-generating venture to sustain his family in these trying times. Maestro’s barbershop became a mobile shop so he can do haircuts anytime, anywhere.CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
At the end of the video, Jollibe paid tribute to Pinoy dads who were just like Maestro (named Tatay Bembol Malanao Arenez in real life), who did not hesitate to shift careers just to be able to keep going. From a school maintenance staff turned staff owner, a restaurant crew turned delivery rider, a driver turned rug maker, and a computer technician turned work worker, the fast food chain lauded the fathers who never gave up for their family.
To all the fathers who continue to sacrifice for their partners and children, we see you and we thank you.
