Wow! The Gerber Baby Is Now 90 Years Old

You know the adorable baby on Gerber baby food bottles and boxes? Yes, the one with the chubby cheeks and bright, wide eyes? Her real name is Ann Turner Cook, and she just turned 90, according to Good Housekeeping!

According to the baby food company, Anne turned 90 last November 20. She was only 4 months old in the sketch that Gerber now uses for all its baby food products. The portrait was done in 1927 by a family friend, Dorothy Hope Smith. She submitted it to Gerber who was then asking for submissions for images to be used in it new baby food advertisements. By 1931, it was the company’s official trademark. 

Ann has been living a full and meaningful life since then. She’s now a great grandmother and a mystery novelist. For 26 years, she was also a literature and writing teacher in Florida, U.S. Happy birthday, Anne!
