  • Reality check: When your day-to-day responsibilities eat up most of your time and energy, committing to a healthy and active lifestyle can be difficult.

But the good news is that you don’t have to adopt a full-blown fitness and diet routine to keep your body at its optimal state.

This is what Pancho Magno, an actor and father, and Chloe Jenna, a theater artist and model, talked about during the recent online launch of Next Generation of Nutrilite™ Double X™ by Amway Philippines.

During the discussion, Pancho and Chloe shared a few simple, low-maintenance practices they have been doing regularly that anyone — from college-age individuals to moms and dads, as well as fitness enthusiasts of all ages — can easily integrate into their own daily routines to make sure the body is well-cared for.

    Do stretching exercises regularly

With Pancho being constantly on-the-go, he often has to sacrifice a few minutes of precious sleep just to be able to squeeze in a quick workout session.

“I make it to a point to have, like, an hour or 30 minutes before going to the shower to work out. [Stretching] lang, push-ups, or body weights,” he said.

But if you find yourself unable to commit to doing a full workout routine every day, your best alternative is to do some stretching exercises. Do stretches standing, seated, or lying down at least 3 times a week for 15 minutes each session. This will help you gain benefits like aerobic fitness, strong muscles, flexibility, better sleep, and more.

    Eat more vegetables

Pancho makes sure to eat vegetables every day, too. And knowing how much they help him to keep him in good health, he says he hopes his son grows up liking them as well.

Easily incorporate nutrient-rich veggies into your everyday meals by preparing at least one veggie dish a day, or by switching things up a bit by making veggie smoothies, salads, or lettuce wraps. To make a lettuce wrap, simply use lettuce leaves instead of bread when making sandwiches.

Think of it this way: If your kids see you eating your greens, chances are, they may be influenced to do the same!

Take supplements to help fill ‘nutrition gaps’

In addition to having well-balanced meals, Pancho and Chloe take supplements to make sure they meet the recommended daily nutrient intake for adults.

Chloe recently decided to start taking supplements due to the nature of her work, which was made more difficult by the work-from-home situation.

“Hindi na lang lines and characters ‘yung iniisip mo, ikaw na rin ‘yung nag-se-set up at home. Dahil tumigil din ako sa gym, parang I feel weak and talagang nakaka-stress siya, so I started mag-workout [with the help of online workout videos] and mag-take ng [supplements],” she shared.

“Since nag-take ako ng [supplements], nakatulong siyang mag-support sa daily activities [ko],” Chloe added.

Meanwhile, Pancho said he has been taking supplements for more than 10 years. It was mainly due to him being a hockey player and a part of the swimming team back in high school, and he just continued on from there.

“In my field (show business), I have to maintain this physique, so I have to work out — maintain this body type, maintain this weight. Supplements helped me with my master recovery. ‘Yung pain ko, ‘yung soreness, medyo nababawasan [sila],” he said.

One example of a supplement is the Next Generation of Nutrilite™ Double X™, a plant-based supplement by Amway Philippines. It has phytonutrients, or the natural chemicals found in fruits, vegetables, beans, grains, and other plants of different forms and colors, that play an important role in human health.

Next Generation of Nutrilite™ Double X™ is the new and enhanced multi-mineral supplement from Nutrilite™ that contains 12 essential vitamins, 10 essential minerals, and phytonutrients from all five colors of the phyto spectrum, from 21 fruits, vegetables and herbs. It is powered with a unique PhytoProtect™ blend, which combines extracts of turmeric, rosemary, and sophora japonica to deliver more phytonutrients.

Of course, Pancho and Chloe emphasized the importance of doing research and consulting with a doctor prior to taking any supplement.

“Do your research, read online, ask your doctor about it,” Chloe said.

“You have to really be cautious [and] informed. Read everything. Ask your doctor, especially if you have allergies or underlying health issues,” Pancho added.

Always remember to prioritize your health, no matter how busy you get. As Pancho and Chloe show, weaving in even the simplest practices into your daily routine can help do wonders to your health.
