Moira admits to being "known to be someone whose weight fluctuated a lot," and as she recalls in a recent Instagram post, she'd "get conscious" about it.
She points out, though, "Not really because of my physical appearance but moreso because of how I felt internally. I always felt uncomfortable and unable to function at my best."
The popular musician, whose full name is Moira Dela Torre, goes on sharing that she "secretly became bulimic" in 2020, and went on that way for two years. She describes it happening "during a season that left me struggling mentally and physically."
Moira's life started turning for the better after getting treatment from Dr. Sheree Bondoc, a specialist in metabolic, nutritional, and functional medicine. They met in December 2021 through Karen Davila, who had earlier interviewed the singer for her YouTube channel.
Moira says Dr. Bondoc helped her get to "the real root of all the misalignment," adding that her doctor who's also an obstetrician-gynecologist "knew exactly which supplements to give me."
She points out, "That's when she started working on my hormones and forever changed my life for the better," and, as she says, "the rest is history."
To date, Moira has gone down from 180 lbs to 120 lbs. She's 60 lbs lighter and a lot healthier. That's because she's been cleared of Hashimoto's disease, an autoimmune disorder that can cause an underactive thyroid, or hypothyroidism. She's also been cleared of estrogen dominance.
She happily notes, too, that she's "no longer infertile" two years after being diagnosed as such.

Moira says she did it all without going on a strict diet, doing strenuous workouts, and undergoing surgery. She's just had her hormonal issues addressed with the help of Dr. Bondoc through a hormone test that identified "what really was messing up" the singer-songwriter's system.
A few of those causes of hormonal issues include stress, depression, and misdiagnosed polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). After a little over a year of treatment, Moira now doesn't only have slender figure but also a stronger body.
She notes while being on tour for almost a month to perform in different countries, she didn't get sick unlike her past experiences dealing with the weather changes, jetlag, and lack of rest.
"I think it was the first time I ever felt fully present and completely enjoyed every moment of my season with the people I'm so blessed to be surrounded with," she says. "Mentally, I've never felt so alive. I felt 100% and felt so happy doing what I love, especially being able to do it well."
Moira has also hit the gym "for the first time in 2 (maybe 3) years," adding, "And [I] don't ever remember feeling this happy and healthy in my life!"
