Mothers are selflessness personified. They always put their family and loved ones’ needs before theirs. Case in point: a mom who’s out supposedly having me-time is likely to end up buying more stuff for her kids than for herself. Sometimes there’s nothing for herself at all.
When you’re a mom, you become self-sacrificing, sometimes to a fault, and feel guilty about enjoying moments that are rightfully yours. Well, we’re here to tell you not to feel that way. You are special. You are worthy of love. For all that you are and all that you do, you deserve all the good life has to offer. When in doubt, read and take to heart the following.
You deserve honesty.
You are worthy of the truth and nothing but. When people lie to you, know that it is their fault and not yours. You are not dense, and you don’t deserve to be taken for a fool. The truth may hurt, but choose the temporary pain than the lasting consequence of a lie.
You deserve to be heard.
You are a person with thoughts and feelings. Speak up! No one has the right to diminish the way you feel just because it does not conform with their beliefs. If you feel that someone has wronged you, find the opportunity to tell that person so he can have the chance to apologize — if he / she will.
You deserve to feel safe.
If anyone is threatening your peace of mind or your safe space at home, leave and seek help, immediately. Whether it was intentional is immaterial; if you feel that danger is imminent, don’t think twice.

You deserve your own forgiveness.
Many times in our lives, our toughest critics aren’t the people around us but ourselves. We keep dwelling on mistakes we’ve made in the past and allow our shortcomings to define our future. Make peace with yourself. Forgive.
You deserve to be happy.
You are not a failure. You may have failed in a few things, yes, but know that it does not make you a failure. You’re just experiencing a few bumps on the road right now, but it’s not the end of your journey. There’s a happy ending waiting for you.
