A woman’s body changes in so many ways during and after pregnancy that going back to your pre-baby body can take some time. Sometimes, you don’t even get it back — not in the same way — and that’s okay.
A lot of moms, including celebrities, feel intense pressure to shed their pregnancy weight. Even mom of three Aubrey Miles, who is known for being fit and healthy, went through this struggle.
The actress tells SmartParenting.com.phin an episode of Dibdibang Usapan that she suffered from postpartum depression during her first pregnancy with son Maurie, especially as she was a young mom back then.
“My first pregnancy, I had postpartum depression for [about] a year… I wasn’t losing weight. I was 19 or 20 [at the time],” she shares.
She thought that breastfeeding and eating healthy would help her lose weight, but when it didn’t happen, her mental health began to suffer. “Sabi ko, ‘What’s happening? This is it for me? I’m just going to take care of the baby, stay in the house? Hindi ko maintindihan ang feelings ko.”
When Aubrey started getting into show business a few years later, that’s the time when she started feeling good about herself and her body. “May focus na ako, I have goals.”
“It took me a year and a half, two years bago completely naging happy ako,” she admits.
For her next two pregnancies — with son Hunter, now 13, and Rocket, 2 — Aubrey made a conscious effort not to give in to negativities. “I know na ‘yung feeling nung first, so sabi ko it will never happen. I don’t want that feeling,” she shares.

The mom says that the support her partner, Troy Montero, helped a lot. Her mindset also began to change that for her third pregnancy, Aubrey just embraced the journey.
It’s a mindset that she wants to share with her fellow moms. “Focus on motherhood because losing weight, it’s forever… don’t rush it because you will get there.”
