Judy Ann Santos Is Learning to 'Love My Imperfectly Perfect Body'Moms, can you honestly answer this question: What do YOU love about yourself?by Kitty Elicay .
Becoming a mother transforms you in so many ways, your body included, and we’ve written about different moms who have learned to embrace the changes that come with bearing children. That’s why this video by She Talks Asia speaks volumes — their #TheBodyLoveRevolution project is a beautiful reminder that the most precious gift that we can give ourselves is love and acceptance.
In the video, various men and women answer the question: What do YOU love about yourself? They include celebrity moms who, like you, have insecurities and body issues. Maybe it’s because this generation is all about selfies and #feedgoals, but more and more women are feeling the pressure to achieve a “sexy” body. Those who are pregnant feel the need to reclaim their pre-pregnancy body for a boost in confidence and self-esteem.
Of course, we’re all for achieving a healthy body but for the right reasons. If the sole purpose of pushing yourself to work out is to fulfill society’s beauty standards, then maybe it’s time to re-assess just why you’re doing it in the first place.
The Body Love Revolution is part of "She Talks Asia Summit 2018: She Is Self Made." On March 10, Bianca Gonzalez and actress Iza Calzado, who is co-founder of She Talks Asia, will have a panel discussion on being confident in your body and skin.
