Pagod Maghapon? Here's A Me-Time Recommendation That Will Help Take The Fatigue Away
Take the time to relax and recharge, mom. You deserve it.CREATED WITH CETAPHIL
Running the household, taking care of the children, and doing errands can leave any parent exhausted and ready to collapse into bed at the end of the day.
But before hitting the sack, take a few minutes for a quick “me-time” to de-stress. Below are some simple yet relaxing activities you can easily incorporate into your nightly routine:
1. Try aromatherapy
Essential oils do more than just perfume your home. Through inhalation and topical application, it can also help relieve stress, headaches, and sleep troubles.
Use an essential oil diffuser to let yourself enjoy the calming scent of lavender, frankincense, peppermint, or eucalyptus. You can likewise opt for ready-made blends that target specific concerns. Aside from oils, you can also choose essential oil-infused products such as candles.
2. Do deep breathing exercises
This is perhaps the most natural thing you can do to calm down if you’re feeling stressed out and anxious. No special equipment is needed, and it will only take a minimum of five minutes to do.
A more detailed description can be found here but to give you an idea, here’s what you will be doing. Lie flat on your back and put one hand on your belly and the other on your chest. Then, inhale and exhale deeply and slowly through your mouth.
Feel free to do some stretching exercises afterward to help relax your muscles.
3. Give yourself a face massage
Look up “face massage” online and you’ll be presented with many different techniques that are said to help firm the skin and make it glow or even help contour the shape of the face. But two common benefits that can be reaped from face massages are relaxation of muscles and improved circulation.
You will need your hands to do this (or a massage tool like the popular jade roller, if you have it), and gently press on specific pressure points. Do it for 5-10 minutes after washing, toning, and moisturizing your face.
4. Pamper your skin
Do more than just cleanse your skin in the shower or bath. Remember: tired skin deserves some TLC, too. Use products that will give you a pleasant and soothing experience and help gently nourish the skin from head to toe.
Cetaphil wants to help moms take care of themselves.
