Moms, You Deserve A Break! Try The Silk Massage In This Sweet Escape In Tagaytay With A Stunning View

When was the last time you had a good massage?

Just when you thought a relaxing, full-body massage would be the best treat for hardworking moms and dads, this hidden spa in Tagaytay takes relaxation a notch above the rest.

The Smart Parenting team tried the 90-minute signature silk massage at Qiwellness Living in Tagaytay City. Here's what we think.

Silk Massage at the Qiwellness Living Spa Review

If it's your first time visiting, you might think it's just an ordinary spa hiding behind big red doors along the busy Aguinaldo Highway in Brgy. Maharlika East in Tagaytay.

Once you're in, their staff will sound the chau gong to announce your arrival and the beginning of your relaxing experience.

Instantly, you'll feel like you time-traveled to ancient China with the ambiance and architecture.

Walking further inside, a familiar view will welcome you like you've never seen it before--the Taal Lake in its full glory.

Before proceeding to the massage, you need to fill out a massage intake form, where you can specify which parts of your body cannot be touched by the therapist. As for me, since I have an ingrown in my pinky toenail, I wrote it down, and the therapist heeded my request.

Once settled in, the staff will inform you if you want to shower first or proceed to the private rooms near the koi pond for the massage.

The massage

The dark, peaceful private room by the pond is good for solo or couple use. The therapist will provide you with a robe, disposable thongs, and slippers. 

It was my first time trying a silk massage, and it was unlike all the massages I've tried. It is more flowy and I felt soothed like a baby.

This massage combines various relaxing and lymphatic drainage massage techniques to facilitate blood and lymphatic circulation, according to Qiwellness. It helps remove both emotional and physical stresses, leaving you in a different state of peace and calm after.

I love the ambient music that they played that takes you to China, as well as the massage cream that they used on my body. My skin felt moisturized but not greasy, and there was that post-massage glow that was worth every peso.

Cherrie Julian, Smart Parenting's video producer shared what she loves about the silk massage, "It felt relaxing and it loosened up my tight areas, especially in my legs."

She added, "The smooth strokes and just the right amount of pressure made me feel renewed after."

Smart Parenting's senior video editor Olan Pingco, Jr. meanwhile enjoyed a deep-tissue massage and also loved the view.

Tea time with a view

After the massage, you will be escorted to their teahouse for complimentary tea. It's right at the perfect spot, with the stunning vista of the Taal Lake for that added calm and relaxation. 

The place is Instagrammable, and you can take your photos at every nook and cranny of the spa. However, keep your voice down as there are also guests on the lower and higher floors who are hoping to have the same relaxing experience as you.

The verdict

Based on our experience with the professional and kind staff, amazing location with a view, and the relaxing ambiance, the 90-minute silk massage at the Qiwellness Living in Tagaytay is highly recommended for parents.
