Ayon sa aktres, “For those who are asking bakit hindi pa ako nagkaka-COVID since the beginning of COVID. Well I’m doing a lot of things to prevent it.”

"One thing that I do every morning and every evening is (hawak ang honey) one teaspoon at night and in the morning as well."

“I don’t know if this is the miracle (the machine) but some people tell me that hindi daw ako nakakapitan ng virus because I drink gin or tequila."

Pero diin ni Gretchen, "I’m not promoting alcohol but I am just saying drink moderately, and I still do that in spite of my allergy, I still take a shot or two of alcohol every 30 minutes, kidding every hour," ang pabirong sabi ng aktres.

    Drinking alcohol and COVID-19

Ayon sa fact sheet ng World Health Organization, "Heavy use of alcohol increases the risk of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), one of the most severe complications of COVID-19."

"Overall, the evidence suggests that there is no “safe limit” – in fact, the risk of damage to your health increases with each drink of alcohol consumed. Alcohol use, especially heavy use, weakens the immune system and thus reduces the ability to cope with infectious diseases."

General myths about alcohol and COVID-19

Myth: Consuming alcohol destroys the virus that causes COVID-19.

Fact: Consuming alcohol will not destroy the virus, and its consumption is likely to increase the health risks if a person becomes infected with the virus. Alcohol (at a concentration of at least 60% by volume) works as a disinfectant on your skin, but it has no such effect within your system when ingested.

Myth: Drinking strong alcohol kills the virus in the inhaled air.

Fact: Consumption of alcohol will not kill the virus in the inhaled air; it will not disinfect your mouth and throat; and it will not give you any kind of protection against COVID-19.
