Doesn't 2016 feel like it's been an exhausting year? Well, we have high hopes for a little escape and respite with next year's movie lineup. Yes, it will have animation (think Toy Story and Inside Out levels), but there are also plots that have piqued our curiosity such as a child hatching a real-life rescue with the help of his mom, a math genius who overwhelms her uncle-guardian, and movie favorites getting reboots and sequels. Time to prepare room for popcorn.

Sing
January 8A theater owner decides to put up a singing reality show contest to save his theater house, but also make a lucky person's dream come true. It's a star-studded voice cast led by Reese Witherspoon, Matthew McConaughey, and Scarlett Johansson.
Monster Trucks
Januray 13A thrilling movie with heart, high school senior student Tripp (Lucas Till) builds a Monster Truck from bits and pieces of scrapped cars. After an accident at a nearby oil-drilling site displaces a strange and subterranean creature with a taste and a talent for speed, Tripp may have just found an unlikely (alien-like) friend and a ticket out of town and the life he was born into.

The Lego Batman Movie
February 8The first spin-off of the highly successful The Lego Movie puts the spotlight on the caped crusader himself. Batman, voiced by Will Arnett, will try to save Gotham City from a hostile takeover by his nemesis, The Joker, while trying to learn how to, well, lighten up.

February 24From the co-director of Toy Story 2, Rock Dog is about a Tibetan Mastiff who leaves his home and his job as a guard dog to follow his passion and dream to be a musician after a radio fell from the sky onto his hands. But his absence sets off unexpected events, and he needs to return home.

Beauty and The Beast
March 15Emma Watson stars as the beautiful Belle opposite Dan Stevens who plays The Beast in this live-action remake of the classic Disney princess story. There has been a lot of teaser trailer for this film, but one big difference from the story book -- Belle is now the inventor, not her dad.

June 2DreamWorks animation is bringing this children's novel series to the big screen. In the movie, two fourth-graders accidentally turn their mean high school principal into their homemade comic’s superhero, the kind-hearted and elastic-banded Captain Underpants.

June 16Disney Pixar recently released a teaser for the movie, and it looks like it'll be grittier than the previous ones. Lightning McQueen needs to reconfigure his game with the help of a new race engineer in order to edge out and win against his new younger rivals.

Henry has a crush on their neighbor, Christina, who is being harmed by her father, a police commissioner. Henry comes up with a plan to rescue her and he writes it down in a book. Susan discovers the book, and she decides to put her son's scheme into motion.

August 4Sony’s movie is about an "app-venture" to find a code that will fix Gene (TJ Miller), the emoji who has multiple facial expressions, with the help of his friend Hi-5 (James Corden). It already sounds hilarious to us. These two will be the emoji's only life-saving chance against a greater danger that threatens the phone and delete all emojis forever.
Blazing Samurai

They had us with this poster. The movie tells the story of a scrappy young dog, Hank (Michael Cera), who dreams of becoming a samurai. He fights to save the town Kakamucho from becoming a litter box of the feline warlord, Ika Chu (Rickey Gervais), who plans to get rid of its inhabitants. Voice stars also include Samuel L. Jackson, Michelle Yeoh, Mel Brooks, and George Takei.

Thor: Ragnarok
