6 Restaurants to Try With the Whole Family Before the Year EndsBeen to the Mamma Mia and Hello Kitty Cafe with the kids yet?
If nothing else, December, particularly the holiday season, is the time of the year for indulging. Fill the Christmas days with as many happy memories as you can, and head out to eat for a real family treat at a few of the amazing restaurants that opened in 2017. Before saying hello to a new year, drop by:
Zubuchon, which has nine branches in Cebu, finally arrived in Manila! With pork that’s stuffed with over 15 herbs and spices, enter and expect to leave satisfied. “It's really just basic, good Filipino food executed without any MSG or any shortcuts,” owner Joel Binamira told Spot.ph. “We're doing what we're exactly doing in Cebu.” He also said the best time to come is around 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. when the lechon is hot and steaming. Noted!
Zubuchon is located at Talisay Street, Barangay San Antonio, Makati City and at UG/F Building A, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City
2. Hello Kitty Café
You can find a Hello Kitty Café in many countries all over the world including the Philippines. With a Western Royalty theme, everything from the furniture to the food is topped with Hello Kitty's iconic bow. It's so Instagram-worthy! The kids will love their baked sweet treats while you enjoy a hot cup of coffee. They have plates of filling meals too for big appetites. Read more about it here.

Nono's is the newest baby of Chef Baba Ibazeta-Benedicto of Classic Confections where the food is tied with her happy memories from childhood, according to Spot.ph. So, on the menu you’ll find Mac n' Cheese, Pepito's Steak Sliders (named after Chef Baba's lolo), and Nono's Homestyle Fried Chicken, which Spot.ph said “could be the new holy grail when it comes to restaurant fried chicken.” If that doesn't convince you that you absolutely must eat here with the kids this year, we don't know what will.
Nono's is located at G/F UP Town Center, Diliman, Quezon City
4. Jin Joo Korean Grill
Korean food may be exciting to K-drama fan moms, but it's the grilling and prepping of the food at the table that will thrill the kids. There's a playfulness at Jin Joo Korean Grill, according to Spot.ph, and it's not just the colorful chairs and quirky illustrations on the wall. It's also because almost everything on the menu requires some DIY preparation. You even get to make your own kimchi rice! See Spot.ph's food recommendations from the restaurant here.

With its vibrant interiors and always-a-good-idea Mexican food on the menu, you know Hunchos is going to be a surefire hit with the kids. If you’re up North in the Metro, you should definitely stop by. Spot.ph recommends the crowd favorite Cheese Pork Quesadilla, the Tortizza which is a cross between a pizza and nachos, and Churros Con Chocolate for dessert. If you drop by for lunch, you can order their meal sets which come in generous servings. Tip: they can lend you sombreros and maracas while you wait for your order.
Hunchos is located at 18 Lilac Street corner Appaloosa Street, Rancho 4 West, Concepcion Dos, Marikina City.
6. Mamma Mia
For a more relaxing lunch out with the family, head to Mamma Mia. This Italian restaurant in Uptown Mall has pasta and pizza, of course, and also coffee and a selection of entreés. Spot.ph recommends the Italian Bacon & Meatballs Bomb and the Mortadella e Pistachio pizza. After your meal, sat in a beautifully decorated restaurant with a belly full of good food, you'll find yourself reluctant to leave.
