  • It's been five years since Disney's Frozen was released (how fast time flies!) and became the highest-grossing animated film of all time. And the magic lives on, not just because your little one still knows all the words to the songs, but it has been adapted for the stage and in Broadway no less.

Yes, it will break the kids’ hearts to know that Frozen: The Broadway Musical is all the way in New YorkBut a video that has just gone viral (over 7 million views on Facebook) offers some consolation for Anna and Elsa fans. Broadway star Caissie Levy, who plays Queen Elsa of Arendelle performed a rendition of “Let It Go” for American TV talk show The View, and, it’s just as enchanting!

Levy embodied the Snow Queen from her captivating acting to her powerful vocals that gave us the goosebumps. And the effects and lighting really brought Elsa’s ice powers to life on stage.

The biggest reaction from the audience, however, went to the costume change that happened right on stage where, like in the film, Elsa goes from her green and fuchsia queenly robes to her sparkling ice dress! How did they do that?! Levy even undid her hair to reveal her blonde hair in braids. You definitely have to show the kids, mom.

For Good Morning America, Patti Murin who plays Princess Anna performed “For the First Time in Forever.” There's no magic ice powers in this one, but it's just as surreal to see the darling princess played by a real person. Make sure to watch until the end because a bunch of other characters also make an appearance (spoiler: spot Prince Hans, Kristoff and Sven!).

Frozen: The Broadway Musical is directed by Michael Grandage. The stage adaptation adds 12 new songs to those in the film and is nominated for three Tony Awards in the categories Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Score. Currently playing, it has scheduled dates at the St. James Theatre in New York until March 2019.
