Attend a workshop all about play 

Learn about the importance of play in young children at Playful Learning: The Whys and Hows of Play workshop by The Learning Basket. There will be interactive learning sessions about the different kids of play, how to play with kids and setting up a play environment at home. Bring the kids because there will be activities and play areas set up for them. Register yaya for a workshop

Have peace of mind whenever you leave your little one in yaya's capable hands -- register her for the Yaya Seminar on Child Safety by The Parenting Emporium and Peekaboo. Make Philippine culture-inspired art

Spend quality bonding time with your child every weekend this summer starting this Saturday by joining Ayala Museum's Mommy and Me: Sensory Art Workshops for Your Young Ones, ideal for mom and her kid age 2 to 6 years old. Here you and your child will be making simple arts and crafts that are inspired by our country's colorful and rich festivals. The first session on Baguio's Panagbenga Festival is happening this Saturday, April 9, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Ayala Museum, Makati. Go biking

Children of all ages will get to enjoy some outdoor fun on bikes this weekend at Kids on Bikes 2016. For children ages 3 to 5, there's the Fun Race where kids and their parents get to roam free in a playground. Kids ages 6 to 8 get to join the Relay Race and battle with their parent at a mini bike race competition and different relay games. Kids ages 9 to 13 will join the major bike competition where they can race with other kids to win the grand title of "Biker Kid of the Year." Watch The Jungle Book



Rudyard Kipling's classic children's tale The Jungle Book is adapted to the big screen once again, this time as a live action movie. Follow Mowgli (played by Neel Sethi), a boy raised by a family of wolves, as he goes on a journey of self-discovery and meets peculiar creatures on the way: a panther (Ben Kingsley), a bear (Bill Murray), a python (Scarlett Johansson) and a ferocious tiger (Idris Elba). Catch it on its first weekend.


Go to a book launch

The Toddler Travels by Genevieve Gutierrez-Figueroa is having a book launch this Friday, April 8, 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Fully Booked, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The book provides parents with advice and realizations drawn from the author's adventures abroad with her little one, accompanied by stunning illustrations by Monica Esquivel.

For the month of April, Repertory Philippines is staging the musical Stepping Out, a good-natured comedy piece by Richard Harris, which tells the story of former chorus girl Mavis, who teaches a dance class in London. While learning the basics of body language and movement, she must deal with the drama cooking up in the studio. Cast in the musical are award-winning performers like Bituin Escalante, Joy Virata, Shiela Francisco, and Natalie Everett.
