Children's puzzles are supposed to be easy for adults to solve, right? Well, that may not be the case for this one.
This puzzle, which has been doing the Internet rounds lately, is said to be from a Soviet-era children's magazine. It's an illustration of a group of friends on a camp site. It comes with a set of questions, and the answers can be found from the picture above. It's not as straightforward as you think, however. Some of the questions need a lot of good observation and logic to figure out.

1. There are 4 tourists.
There are 4 sets of cutlery on the picnic blanket and 4 names on the duty list.
2. They arrived a few days ago.
You'll notice a spiderweb between their tent and a tree. The tent has been up for a while since a spider was able to weave a home.
3. They got there by boat.
There are oars by the tree.
4. No, a village is not far.
A chicken is walking around their campsite, which suggests a village is quite close.
5. The wind is blowing from the south.
On top of the tent is a flag that shows the wind direction. How can you tell which direction is which? Trees on the Northern Hemisphere have branches that are longer on the southern side. We know the picture is set in the Northern Hemisphere because this is a puzzle from Russia.
6. It's morning.
With the sense of direction you got from #5, you will be able to tell from the shadows. Most noticably is of the man's standing next to the bonfire. The man casts a shadow to his left, meaning the sun must be on his righthand side which is east. The sun rises in the morning from the east.
7. Alex is catching butterflies.
You can see his net above the bushes.
8. Colin was on duty yesterday.
You can tell the name of the campers from the list they have put up on the tree. Colin is the one rummaging in his backpack which is marked with a 'C'. James is the one taking pictures. His backpack, which is marked with a 'J', has a tripod sticking out of it. Alex is catching butterflies. That means it's Peter who's on duty today. So, according to the schedule, Colin was on duty yesterday.
9. Today is the 8th.
Peter is on duty so it must be the 8th.
