  • We have around two weeks before the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) is expected to end, but it’s safe to say we can’t wait to finally be able to go outdoors again! We asked parents in our Facebook group Smart Parenting Village about what they look forward to doing once the ECQ is over. While many said they intend to stay at home until it’s safe to be outside, others are excited to take trips, have parties, and more!

    Go to church

“Sa Simbahan ko talaga planong pumunta kasama mag-ama ko para makapagpasalamat.” — Grace Dipol Platino

“Kami naka-plan talaga na pumunta simbahan, aside from that gusto ko i-celebrate ‘yung birthday ni hubby and birthday ni LO, si hubby April si LO May, kaya mag-celebrate kami and also thanksgiving na din na wala nagkakasakit sa amin ng fam ko. ‘Yun ‘yung plano ko.” — Jhoan Cabral

“We were supposed to go to Ilocos for our Holy Week vacay and Visita Iglesia as well. When all of this is over and everything’s okay, we’d still like to have that planned trip, and most especially, visit these churches.” — Irone Boquiron

    Take a beach trip

Beach! I wanna be with nature while my daughter wants to swim, I think going to the beach is a good compromise. It’s a great way to celebrate all the family occasions that we’ve missed like birthdays, holy week, etc. Hopefully we could find a place that’s not so crowded. Social distancing pa din even after the lockdown!” — Jau Leo

“Beach. Miss na miss na ng anak ko mag-swimming. Minsan nag-pe-pretend pa siya na lumalangoy habang nasa kama. One time naglalaro siya ng wooden blocks niya, tapos sabi niya sakin ‘Nanay, I’m building a sand castle with my blocks.’ Kaya after ng crisis na ito gusto namin siyang dalhin sa beach para mag-enjoy.” — Camille Anne Edrosolo-del Rosario

“Beach or at my uncle’s resort in Pansol. Our kids have been very behaved throughout the quarantine period, and they know why they can’t go out. So far, no tantrums, they didn’t even try to ask us if they can go out of the house. They deserve a little treat from mom and dad.” — Daile Maryse Ramirez

    Continue their hobbies

“We’re planning to hike with the kids, since my husband and I are both mountaineers. We also want to go to the beach so our LO can experience both beach and mountains.” — Xuaxian Lei

“Bundok! Me and hubby are mountaineers! Sobrang namimiss namin ang kagandahan ng bundok na binigay ni Lord sa atin! ‘Yung hirap sa pag-akyat at re-reward-an ka ng magandang tanawin.” — Camille Tompong-Serrato

“Gusto ko pong mamili ng vegetable seeds, potty mix, at gardening tools. Pagpapatuloy namin ang pagtatanim. Meron na kami kamoteng kahoy, sibuyas, papaya, at sili.” — Famay Idea

    Travel

“Go back to the Philippines to finally kiss and hug my daughter and spend time with my family. I am a healthcare staff working here in Singapore. Due to COVID-19, international flights [have] been suspended. I was supposed to go back [to] Clark, Pampanga to celebrate Mother’s Day and go for a family summer trip at La Union.” — Joana Caoleng

    Celebrate milestones

“Aside from going to church, we have already planned to go to Boracay to celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday. Everything was settled then but we had to cancel because of the pandemic. However, we’re still going to celebrate my baby’s first birthday there. So much to celebrate and to be thankful for.” — Delvyne Chria Agsalud Martinez

“At the beach, we were supposed to celebrate my 3 sons’ and hubby’s birthdays this month, and everyday my little kids kept asking [kung] malapit na matapos ang quarantine, coz they are so ready to hit the sands, but I doubt it will happen at the near future, this of course after going to Church.” — Mommee Marithe

    Visit relatives and hometown

“After simba. Will visit my in-laws. Matagal na kasi plan na Holy Week kami ang papasyal sa kanila. Sobrang miss na nila ang anak ko. Hanggang video call lang sila araw araw. January pa last visit nila sa amin dito sa province.” — Apple Montano Arle-Panteleon

“After ECQ, what we would like to do is to go home in the Philippines to spend time with my parents since miss na miss na din nila apo nila. Then we would like to go to a beach and celebrate life together with my relatives.” — Niña Yap Merueña
