Each is to his/her own. While other moms would be all-out in celebrating the Halloween season with her children, there are also other moms out there who would rather do something different.
We gathered tips from moms on alternative activities for children during this season of dressing up, and telling scary stories.
Elizabeth King-Santos, mommy to four-year old Ynigo, shares, “There was a year when we didn't join. Instead, we made art activities at home. I suggest animal masks, costumes, head dresses.” She added that you can even cook/bake something together with your child at home.
According to Chiqui Medina, a veterinarian and mommy to Zach and Willow, she hosts a pizza party at their house for her children and served different candies that her children enjoyed eating.
2. Plan a costume party.
Donna Torres-Gonzales, mom to eight-year old Chaira, explains that whenever there are birthday parties in their family/relatives, it is also the time when children can wear their costumes.
Kathy Ramirez, a directress at Village Infant/Toddler preschool, a church-based preschool in California, points out that in their own church, they not only let the children dress up, but they also play games and let the children get candy during this activity. According to Ramirez, they call this event as "Harvest Celebration".
