Everyone’s favorite Amazonian superhero is back! The trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 has just been released, and it is already promising more lasso-flinging and bullet-deflecting action.
Set in the mid-1980s, Wonder Woman 1984 takes place decades after the events of the first film. Warner Bros. Entertainment, the home of the DC Extended Universe, has not provided many details on the new film, save for a one-line summary: “Diana Prince comes into conflict with the Soviet Union during the Cold War in the 1980s and finds a formidable foe by the name of the Cheetah.”
The trailer begins with Diana Prince, played by Gal Gadot, talking to Barbara Minerva, played by Kristen Wiig. Though Barbara appears to be a friend to Diana, fans of the DC Comics will know that her character will eventually turn into the Cheetah, who is known as one of Wonder Woman’s archenemies.
We also see Diana reuniting with her love interest Steve Trevor (played by Chris Pine) and fighting dozens of enemies. Towards the end of the trailer, there’s even a quick clip of her as a child running towards battle! Another iconic DC Universe villain named Maxwell Lord (played by Pedro Pascal) also makes an appearance.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWCONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
