15 Moms (And Their Kids) Deliver The Verdict On All Natural Seasons Juice
  • Kids can make the darnedest excuses not to eat nutritious food like fruits. They complain certain fruits look weird, smell funny, taste sour, or are just plain boring. So their parents and caretakers get creative to get the little ones to have fruit. 

    Some moms have turned to fruit juices, which they consider as additional sources of vitamins. They also find fruit-based beverages to be better alternatives to soda and other sugary drinks.

    Moms, however, have standards when they buy fruit juices. So when All Natural Seasons Juice, a product of Dole, invited us to evaluate its products, we went to our communities, Smart Parenting Village and Parent Chat. We had 15 moms (and their kids!) on our road test crew to see if this brand can get the Smart Mom Approved seal.

    We delivered the All Natural Seasons juice boxes to the moms (following quarantine guidelines, of course). We asked them to answer a questionnaire and after about two weeks, we had a virtual get-together to get their honest feedback. Here are the results.

    Aileen Joyce “AJ” Wong, 29, is an online seller with two kids, Zach, 7, and Aryan, 5.

    Ana Reyes-Bautista, 37, used to be a flight attendant and has two daughters Ava, 7, and Asha, 4.

    Janice Pomaloy, 31, is a PR manager and mom to sons James Kean, 7, and James Karl, 2.

    Joy Michelle Santos, 36, works in the buyer-support field and has two sons, Caleb Criston, 8, and Judah Zion, 4.

    Karla Gonzalvo. 32, is a marketing manager and mom to son Jacob, 1.

    Marife “Fe” Antonio, 39, is a homebaker and has two kids, Jaden, 9, and Macy, 5.

    Melody Joy “Mel” Quililan, 34, is a mompreneur with a daughter named Ava Mielle, 6.

    Nadia Goloy, 38, works as a music teacher and has a one child, Mikhaila Simmone, 5.

    Robee Lynne”Rob” Sagun, 32, oversees branch operations and has two kids, Gabrienne, 7, and Gamaliel, 3.

    Angeie Guab-Gredona, 30, is a mom to Euclid Janz, 6, and James William, 1.

    Maria Theresa “Kringkring” Daguio, 34, has three kids: Atasha Gabrielle, 14; Lamarcus Rafel, 8; and Aurora Skyler, 3.

    Brand Claim

    The majority of the moms in the group believed All Natural Seasons Juice's claim: that it uses only natural ingredients and contains no preservatives and artificial flavors.

    DJean Cruz, who's allergic to food with preservatives and other artificial components, attested she did not have any adverse reaction after drinking the fruit juice.


    The moms in the discussion were impressed by the variety of flavors, but Pineapple-Banana and Pineapple-Orange were the top two favorites. Some were also pleasantly surprised by Pineapple-Coconut. They admitted they were expecting balanced taste distribution, but they realized the dominant flavor is pineapple with just hints of banana, orange, mango, and coconut.

    All Natural Seasons has four flavors: Pineapple-Banana, Pineapple-Orange, Pineapple-Mango, and Pineapple-Coconut. 


    Some moms were concerned about the sweetness of the fruit juices. But they noted that the use of Stevia, a healthier variety of sweeteners, eased their concerns. Nadia Goloy happily reported being surprised that her daughter Mikhaila Simmone, who’s not into sweet drinks, actually liked All Natural Seasons Juice.

    Most of the moms liked the visuals on the packaging (“cute!”), and their children loved the drawings on the carton box. Ana Bautista even thought the packaging was “sosyal,” considering that it costs less than most known brands.

    After commending the use of recyclable material, the moms appreciated how products held up well during transport. “Hindi ito nasira agad during shipping at hindi rin mabilis ma-deform ang box,” they said. A few did suggest using a clear bottle instead, “para mas makita ang binibili.”

    The moms recommended to have the packaging in a variety of colors, so it could stand out along the supermarket aisle further.

    Melody Quililan broached the idea of adding another layer of protection, such as a strip of film or foil, that is peeled off after opening the lid. “Para mas protected ang product lalo na kung nakalagay sa shelves na puwedeng daanan ng mga insects or pests like rats,” she reasoned.


    The protective film or foil will also prevent the juice from spilling when the lid is opened, especially since it can easily be opened even by a child.

    The moms could not help remark that it would have been advantageous if Dole's name was on the packaging. They explained that seeing its logo will entice them more into trying out the fruit juice.

    The verdict

    After the virtual discussion all moms were asked to rate the product based on packaging, taste, and brand claim. “Wow” was the highest grade, followed by “very satisfactory,” “satisfactory,” “needs improvement,” and “will not recommend.”

    Many of the moms will prefer to buy one-liter packs because it will save them money and time from going back to the grocery.

    For packaging, 9 out of the 15 participants gave “very satisfactory” remarks and the remaining 6 went for “satisfactory.”


    For the taste, one mom rated it with a “wow,” 4 with “very satisfactory,” and 10 with “satisfactory.”

    Finally, 12 believed in the brand claim with “very satisfactory” points and 3 with “satisfactory.”

    Overall, the moms were happy with All Natural Seasons Juice. They said they would buy it once it hits the market because it’s more affordable than most brands and especially “kung wala ’yung nakasanayan nilang brand.” #SPSmartMomApproved
