Make breakfast special by making a different kind of French toast! Enjoy Pinoy food with French-style cooking by using Filipino ensaymada instead of the usual brioche loaf. Add some fresh fruits of chocolate and the kids will absolutely love it. It's an added bonus that they're so easy to make you can have the kids help you prepare it!
4 pieces ensaymada, flattened until 1/2 inch thick 2 eggs, lightly beaten 1/2 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla zest of 1 orange butter, for pan-frying maple syrup, whipped cream, nuts, and fresh fruits, for topping
Make it!
1 Flatten ensaymada until 1/2 inch thick.
2 Dip in a mixture of egg, milk, vanilla, and orange zest then pan-fry in butter until browned.
3 Serve with maple syrup, whipped cream, nuts, and fresh fruits.
