    • 8 slices of white bread (or whole wheat or raisin), crusts trimmed
    • ¼ cup butter, softened
    • ¼ cup peanut butter
    • ¼ cup strawberry jelly
    • 3 bananas, chopped finely

    1. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
    2. Spread peanut butter on the other side of four bread slices. Top with chopped bananas.
    3. Spread strawberry jam on the unbuttered side of remaining four slices.
    4. To make the sandwiches, put one bread slice with strawberry jam on top of one bread slice with peanut butter and bananas, jam side down. Repeat this with the remaining slices.
    5. Put assembled sandwiches on a non-stick heated skillet. Brown both sides.
    6. Let sandwiches cool to room temperature. Cut out shapes in the center of each sandwich with a cookie cutter. Slice uncut sides into different wedges to form puzzle pieces.
    7. Secure sandwich pieces with a toothpick, and store them in a clear, airtight container. Insert a sheet of paper with instructions on what to do with the pieces: “Help mommy solve this puzzle by putting the pieces together. I love you!”
