Pinoys are no doubt obsessed with milk tea. And while you can have the sweet drink delivered to your home during the community quarantine, there’s nothing more satisfying than making your own. Mas tipid pa!
It’s quite easy to do — you just need tea bags (steeped in hot water) and then mix it with milk! But don’t stop there — you can level up your milk tea by adding a few ingredients to make it even more delicious. It can also double as a bonding activity because it’s simple enough to do with the kids.
Watch the video below for some ideas to try if you plan to make your milk tea at home and then read on for the recipes:
Instead of fresh milk, pour around one or two tablespoons of condensed milk into a glass. Add ice cubes, then pour black tea. For an extra kick, add black coffee if you want a deeper flavor (and more caffeine!).
Milk tea with ice cream
Your kids will love this! Instead of milk, scoop ice cream (like vanilla or cookies and cream) into a glass and then pour in the tea.
Frozen sweet tea cubes
If you don’t like watering down the flavor of tea in your drinks, try this: pour brewed tea into ice cube trays then freeze. Fill your glass with the sweet tea cubes and then pour milk. Enjoy!
