    Those who like sinigang and fried chicken will enjoy this recipe which combines the sour zest of the former and the crispy comfort of the latter. It looks like your regular fried chicken, though, so better tell your guests what to expect.

    •    3/4 kilo chicken wings
    •    1 small pouch of sinigang sampalok powder mix
    •    1/4 cup water
    •    4 tbsp. cooking oil

    1. Rub the sinigang powder on the chicken wings and let it marinate for an hour.
    2. Simmer the chicken wings in water in a deep pan for 10 minutes to make the meat tender. This will also ensure that it is thoroughly cooked and that it will be moist (not dry) after cooking.
    Set the chicken aside.
    3. Add cooking oil to the pan (a Teflon-coated pan is best). When the oil is hot enough, fry the chicken wings.

    Serve while hot.
