Weekend Recipe: Cinnamon Doughnut Holes
  • This doughnut recipe makes bite-sized cakey balls dusted with cinnamon sugar. Make this with the kids for movie night or merienda this weekend. Just make sure you make extra.

    Cinammon Doughnut Holes
    Makes 32 balls

    What you'll need
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    2 tablespoons sugar
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    4 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1 large egg
    1 cup milk
    1/4 cup melted butter
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    Make it!

Sift together all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and ground cinnamon in a large bowl; set aside.

2 Mix together egg and milk in another bowl. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix just until combined.

3 Add melted butter and mix until a soft dough forms. Take 1/2 tablespoon of the batter and form into a ball; place on a tray. Repeat with the rest of the dough.

4 Preheat oil in a deep pan. Combine sugar and ground cinnamon in a bowl. Deep-fry balls until golden brown; immediately coat balls in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Serve warm.
