Where To Eat In La Union? Here's Bettinna Carlos Top 5 Recommendations

  • It's already been a year since Bettinna Carlos embraced the probinsya life with her husband Mikki Eduardo and her daughter Gummy. To celebrate their first anniversary living in La Union, the celebrity mom shared her family's go-to places for good food around the area.

    "Living in La Union for a year meant enjoying not just the beach but also the food!" Bettinna said. "Celebrating this milestone by sharing with you where we eat the most here!"

    Bettinna, 34, compiled her must-try La Union restaurants in a Youtube vlog. Her recommendations will come in handy if your family plans to take a road trip up north!

    But before digging into some of the best food La Union can offer, Bettinna listed down the things people love about La Union. Sure, it's known as a surf spot, but there's a lot to like about this town other than its waves.

    First is it's scenery. Second is the very much alive food scene in the area. "Maraming kainan, as in tabi-tabi lalakaran mo na lang," Bettina shares. Another is its proximity to Manila. Last but not the least, is its no-frills, laid back vibes.


    Describing La Union, Bettina says, "Hindi marangya. Walang pakielaman 'yung mga tao dito."

    5 must-try local places to eat in La Union

    If La Union is among your family's revenge travel bucket list, make sure to check out at least one of these must-try places to eat in the surfing capital of North Luzon. These are all mom-approved by Bettinna! 

    1. Masa Bakehouse

    This spot is perfect for those who are craving for bread, pastries, and all-day breakfast. 

    Why Bettinna loves it?

    "The variety of pastries and bread products that they offer, ang dami...Favorite items namin sa Masa [ay] pan de coco. And Masa also, for us, serves the best pizza. Hands down the best pizza for me because of their crust. Sourdough 'yung crust ng pizza nila."

    2. Kabsat La Union

    Filipino food take centerstage in this local restaurant. Bettinna says this place is family-friendly and good for big groups. You also get a bonus view since it faces the beach.

    Why Bettinna loves it?

    "Sabaw, inasal, kinilaw, inihaw, kung ano mang luto ng Pinoy mayroon sa Kabsat. 'Pag tinatamad kami magluto at bigla kami nag-crave ng beef sinigang sa Kabsat tayo pupunta." Her favorite dish here? It's the beef wagyu sisig and chicken inasal.

    3. Awesome hotel

    Fan of seafood or Japanese cuisine? Put a pin on this place. Aside from good food, you can also enjoy a good view of the sea from this spot.

    Why Bettinna loves it?

    "We like it there because sobrang fresh ng sashimi nila. They're so fresh, they're so pink, they're so orange, and malalaki 'yung cuts." Since it's a hotel, Bettinna says you can still use the pool even if you're not a guest for an additional fee.

    4. Papa C's

    This is the place to be if you're craving for meat and steaks.

    Why Bettinna loves it?

    "They have steak, burgers, they have ribs. They also have really good sizzling chicken." Bettina also shared a hack when you eat at Papa C's. "Kasi malamig 'yung restaurant. We noticed na ang bilis lumamig nung steak namin." What She and Mikki would do is to order one steak at time, have it for sharing before ordering another one. Smart!


    5. Biryani Station

    This is the only place located in San Fernando, La Union. The first four in this list, you can visit in San Juan, La Union where Bettinna and her family is based.

    Why Bettinna loves it?

    "Value for money kasi ang dami mong kanin and very flavorful." One of Bettinna's favorite thing from their menu is a dessert called fatirah."
