Shop At This Online Palengke Where Tricycle Drivers Provide Delivery
  • In this time of a global pandemic, everybody is affected financially. The ones that hurt the most are the small local businesses that largely depend on daily sales for their income. Now more than ever, we all need to help one another by buying local.

Vice President Leni Robredo had a great idea to have wet and dry market goods from public market vendors available to consumers via the app. Community Mart app was first deployed for Quezon City's Kamuning Market. It helped minimize people in the usually busy and crowded public market.

Next was Pasig Mega Market , which had delivered more than Php71,000 sales on its first run on Tuesday, May 27. "Tunay ngang mas maraming bagay ang nagiging posible kung nagtutulungan, lalo na sa paglalayong mapabuti ang buhay ng ating mga kababayan," Robredo wrote on Facebook.

Community Mart hits three birds with one stone!

Community Mart app works for both ends of the business. It's perfect for people who prefer to stay home and have their groceries delivered to them. It also provides much-needed income to small public market stall vendors and tricycle drivers. The app is easy to use, too. Here's how:

    1. Download the Community Market app.

Search Community Mart app on Google Play or The Apple Store, and click download. When you open the app, you will need to select your city. It's also available in some towns in Albay, Camarines Norte and Caramines Sur, and Sorsogon, apart from Quezon City and Pasig City in Metro Manila.

    2. Sign up and verify your account.

Once you've chosen your location, you need to log in or sign up if it's your first time. Enter your name, mobile number, and a password. Then, verify your account by entering a 6-digit number code sent to your mobile phone.

    3. Indicate the address to deliver the goods.

Before you choose your purchase items, you need to indicate the address where you want your groceries delivered. You can enter more than one address, and label it as "home" or "work," etc.

Community Mart is available in Metro Manila for Quezon City residents via Kaminung Market and Pasig City residents via Pasig Mega Mart.

Once you've set and chosen an address, it'll show you the available markets in your area. If you're in Pasig, that's only Pasig Mega Market, at least for now. Community Mart app plans to expand and add more small local businesses in the app soon.

    4. Shop for your groceries.

You need to place your orders before 10:00 a.m. every day so that it can be delivered on the same day. It also ensures the quality of any wet markets goods you'll purchase.

When you open a market, the goods are categorized, so it's easy to find a particular item you need.

Once you click Pasig City Market, the items are categorized according to buko and niyog, chicken, dry goods, eggs, fish, food court, frozen food, fruits, glassware and home appliances, groceries, meat, rice and grains, vegetables and others.

Choose your groceries and add to cart!

Click a category, and it'll display what's available, along with the corresponding prices. If you want, say, a bunch of bananas, click it and indicate how many you need. Then, add to cart!

    5. Checkout and pay for your groceries.

Once you're done app shopping, go to your cart by clicking the upper right corner of the app. Then, tap Checkout. Select the delivery method, and compute for the delivery fee based on your location. The app will also show you when to expect your groceries to arrive.

If you have any instructions, notes, or preferences, fill put the box for it. Next, choose a method of payment. Only cash on delivery is accepted for the time being. You need to indicate if you'll pay the exact amount or if you need change.

Double-check your order before you click Place Order. And you're done! Just wait for your groceries. You've done a great job helping a family stay afloat during these troubled times.
