Mom we Love: Marilen Faustino-MontenegroRead all about our featured mom, Marilen Faustino-Montenegro: her marriage, her blossoming career, and how she is embracing motherhood.by Lei Dimarucut-Sison .
We’re not sure who the bigger celebrity is, but our featured Mom, Marilen, insists that husband Hans Montenegro, former model and actor, is more well-known. As an interior designer-turned-model, and now doing both, we know she was being too modest. After all, don’t we all recognize that sweet smile from TV commercials?
“I was already doing TV commercials as a student. When I graduated with a degree in BS Interior Design, I worked for a while in an architecture/interior design firm. At the hospital after he was born, he was able to latch right away. The doctor was glad to see that I was able to do it. But then, at home, I encountered some difficulty because I had sore nipples, which I think was because I was doing something wrong also. I hired a lactation consultant and she corrected my positioning. That is very important especially when the baby is very small and is hard to handle.” Persistence is obviously one quality Marilen possesses. “I was really committed to breastfeed and there was no turning back.”ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
