Solenn And Nico Bolzico's Beautiful, Minimalist Living Room Is Baby-Friendly, Too!The whole living room transformation took three days to complete.
Interior designer Cyndi Fernandez and her husband Mado Beltran of Moss Design House have another "home fluffing" episode and this time, they worked their magic on Solenn Heussaff and Nico Bolzico's living room! After Solenn gave birth to daughter Thylane "Tili" Bolzico, she wanted to change the space to make it feel less cluttered.
Together, they decided to go with a "modern, minimalist" look—something that's all about neutrals. The color palette is a mix of beiges and taupes. Cyndi explained, "Beiges and neutrals are very beautiful colors. They're subtle, but all you have to do is use those colors and layer them differently."
She adds, "Texture is the new color. When you work with neutrals, the tendency is that it falls a little bit flat. But to be able to have more visual interest and visual play, use texture."ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
A baby-friendly space
The new living room also features designs that are less rectilinear. For example, the center table by Moss Home is more "capsule-shaped," eliminating the edges to make it safer for baby Tili as well.CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
An L-shaped sofa and two accent chairs from Philux were brought in. The chairs, which have a "mid-century silhouette but highlights Filipino craftsmanship," are really remarkable!
It took the Moss Design team three days to complete the transformation. On the first day, they focused on installing the wallpaper. They went with one from Wallcrown Design Center Inc. that has a linen texture that's very warm. They also placed masking tape markings so that everyone can visualize the flow of the living room.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
On day two, the carpet from Eurobel, which Cyndi described as one of the highlights in this revamped space, finally arrived! She shared, "I wanted a print that was subtle, graphic, but it plays along with this entire color story." (It will also help cushion baby Tili while she wanders around the room!)
Before the big reveal, the main pieces of furniture were positioned, and the Moss Design House team decided to surprise Solenn and Nico with a Christmas tree (it's their first one as parents!). Cyndi also moved things around in the adjacent rooms to make the entire space more cohesive.
As Solenn and Nico were entering through the front door, Sos said, "I'm more excited than my wedding day." Haha! And then she screamed, jumped, and burst into tears. Nico was also visibly impressed, saying, "We moved to a new house."
