A few years before marrying husband Ali Khatibi and giving birth to daughter Amarah, Cristine Reyes found solace in a suburban area south of Metro Manila. While this was not her first home—she also stayed in her family home in Marikina City (which was affected by Typhoon Ondoy in 2009) and in a luxurious townhouse in Quezon City—she says this one meant the most to her as it mirrored her state of mind at that time.
A lot of people are surprised when they find out that Cristine took charge of the three-month renovation process. Although she had the help of an interior-designer friend, she has a keen eye for design. The actress stayed on top of shopping for all the furniture and choosing the color schemes for each room.
