  • A video produced by the Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) weekend variety show has been making the rounds online for its tearjerking story that's nothing short of miraculous.

The story features Jojo de Carteret, an Australian filmmaker who has been struggling with his personal identity after decades of growing up and living in foreign soil. Despite the heavy accent and his distinct Australian-English twang, Jojo is actually a full-blooded Filipino who was born in the Philippines.

When he was just a 4-year-old boy, Jojo went missing. He was later found crying for help at the Muñoz market with no recollection of his address or other information that could lead to his parents, so a jeepney driver took pity and brought him to an orphanage instead.

Two quick years passed by, but his parents were nowhere to be found. Jojo then became available for adoption and was placed under the care of an Australian couple who took him home with them.

Fast-forward 30 years later and Jojo is now back at the very place where it all started, looking for his biological mom in a sea of a million people. Despite the seemingly insurmountable obstacles he has had to face, Jojo's inspiring story and message urges people to have faith in their dreams:

"Don't lose hope. Don't ever feel defeated, don't ever think it's impossible. Because if your heart and your will is in the right place, if it's meant to be, it's meant to be. And if it's not, keep trying because you never know when the day will come that you'll meet the one that you've lost," he said in his closing interview for the show.
