The enhanced community quarantine, enacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has been affecting many Filipinos, from frontliners working tirelessly to help infected individuals to people who have lost their sources of income. On the upside, we have also seen many who have stepped up to help those who are in need, just like these celebrity moms.

Along with her new family, Sarah Lahbati is preparing relief goods and medical supplies to be delivered to frontliners and people in need in parts of Metro Manila. These supplies include all-purpose cleaning sanitizers (for hospitals), canned goods, noodles, and milk, though Sarah’s group is also hoping to distribute food and personal protective equipment (PPEs). The Gutierrez family has also opened a fundraising campaign to provide financial support for frontliners and people in need.

In the first days of the enhanced community quarantine, Dr. Vicki Belo and her team distributed the remaining stocks of PPEs in the Belo clinics to frontliners who need them. They have also announced their intention to distribute 1,000 healthy meals a day to frontliners in over 20 hospitals and local government units (LGUs) throughout the quarantine period.
Aside from these, the Belo Medical Group announced that it will provide its employees with an extension of full-pay, full-benefits, the early release of their 13th-month pay, and a modified “no work, no pay” scheme in case work remains suspended beyond May.
