A Texas woman said her faith in humanity was “restored” when a sheriff’s deputy prayed with her children during a traffic stop.
Samantha Palacios said she was driving near Boerne, Texas, after picking up wooden pallets and spools for an upcoming project. She said she was stopped by law enforcement after debris from the supplies fell onto the road.
Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Edward Collazo asked for her license and insurance as usual, but then asked if Palacios could roll down the window so he could talk to the four children in the backseat. The children told Collazo about their upcoming baptisms, which prompted him to say a prayer with them.
“Do you mind if I pray with you guys real quick?” Collazo asks in this video before going on to recite a prayer for Palacios’s niece Eliana and her three children, Ricardo, Gemma, and Emerald.
“Lord, I pray over these little children right now. Father God, you keep them safe and you watch over them, Father God, in all the days of their lives,” Collazo says in the video.
