Dimples Romana never hid the real story of how her teenage daughter, Cal, 15, came to be -- not even from Cal herself. One could easily put 2 and 2 together to know the truth.
At 19 years old, the actress was already in an interesting stage when she married her husband, Boyet Ahmee. Soon after, she welcomed their first child, Cal, and though many were skeptic about their relationship, Dimples saw it as a blessing.
She was excited to start her own family, in fact, after losing close family members early in her life. But Dimples isn’t romanticizing her life path — she doesn’t endorse getting pregnant at a young age, she told Pep.ph in 2012. The mom of two hopes, however, that her story would prove how one past mistake should not define one’s life.
“We all have a chapter in our stories that we draw lessons from,” she told Inquirer. Dimples credits this to her experience as a teenage mom and young wife. These lessons, she said, were also passed on to her and Boyet to help them steer their family in the right direction.

The first step, says Dimples, was to humbly accept that you’ve made a mistake, which in her case was getting pregnant in her teens. Listening, and the willingness to “change your ways” also helped her and Boyet “build an even better and more beautiful nest of love,” she added.
Twelve years after having Callie, the couple welcomed their second child, son Alonzo Romeo Jose, now 4. Even in the face of new challenges (Boyet was recently in and out of the hospital following a surgery; read more about it here), Dimples is proud to say that their “marriage is still intact.”
“At the end of the day, our story doesn’t end with a mishap or a failure. In our story, the mistake was only at the beginning,” Dimples said. “We’re still together as a family,” she stressed.
