LOOK: Mom Transforms Den Into A 'Chronicles of Narnia'-Themed PlayroomIt's simply magical!by Lei Dimarucut-Sison .
“When you can’t bring your kids to Disneyland, you bring Disneyland to you” — is every thrifty mom’s motto. However, in Brittany Gogel’s case, it wasn’t Disneyland she was dreaming for her child, but Narnia, a make-believe world made famous by the children’s book series The Chronicles of Narnia. And because she loves to DIY, she embarked on a project that she knew would make her 2-year-old daughter happy.
Taking inspiration from the first book of the series, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, this mom from Canada drew up a design that would not only bring the fantasyland to their home, but also encourage a sense of adventure.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
With her background in interior design, she worked on the area under the stairs of their home with materials like chicken wire, fake grass, paint, glue gun, and an old Christmas tree. The result is what Brittany likes to call the “imaginarium,” which she says is “a place of wonder, excitement, and adventure.”
“After the stresses of life and adulthood — you know, ‘reality’ — we should all have a place where we can use our imaginations and be children again.”

As in the book, the entrance to the Narnia-inspired playroom is a wardrobe door, which Brittany had customized. It even has coats hanging on a rod to complete the look, reports The Sun.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Further through the hallway is a magical space with lights and bookshelves, with a reading nook on one corner. It’s enough to spark the imagination of both young and old alike!ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Using her Brit & Barclay Designs Instagram account, Brittany wrote as a caption for one of the snaps of the playroom, “This weekend was the best! We ate popcorn and cookies, played at the park, went water sliding (3x!), read book after book, and even watched a couple shows. My heart is full.
“You may not think that one small room can impact you...but it has...more than I ever intended.
“When I made this room I felt very nostalgic and actually felt like a kid again. That has now translated into other activities. This past weekend when I went down the water slide I said to myself, ‘I’m going to go down this just like I did when I was 8.’ And I’ve never laughed so hard...I had clearly forgotten what it felt like.”
