Ask any busy mom. Putting on makeup isn't as easy as it looks. Contrary to how it may seem to outsiders (a.k.a. husbands and dads), there's a lot of technique, precision and TIME involved. So, for moms, the default has always been the simpler routine, the better. Now for those who are clueless in the ways of beauty, 3-year-old Mila Stauffer is here to guide you — and also make you laugh.
The toddler internet sensation, together with her twin sister Emma, gave in to the demands of her more than 2.8 million followers on her Facebook page, Kcstauffer (run by her mom Katie) and filmed a makeup tutorial.
“So I get a lot of requests about how I do my contour (yes, you read that right). Today, I'm gonna show you how to look just like me!” she said in the introduction of her video. Suffice it to say, viewers learned from a pro.
Here are just a couple of beauty guru Mila's golden makeup tips: 1. In place of a beauty blender, a slice of bread will do. “The most important thing is to blend and blend and blend,” said Mila as she slathered a palm-full of foundation on her sister’s face and further patted it on with, what looks like, a slice of wheat bread.
2. A highlighter is important for that subtle glow. Highlight the cheekbones and the bridge of the nose, advised Mila, and you don’t need to be picky about what highlighter you use. A stationery highlighter from your office will get the job done just as well as any high-end product.
Mila also pointed out that the key to a perfect winged eyeliner is confidence and courage. Why? Because liquid eyeliner “can smell your fear!” So true.
If you're wondering if the twins followed a script, they did, but they certainly knew how to deliver their punch lines with just the right amount of sass and cuteness for comedic effect.
One of our favorite parts, however, is one that looks like it wasn’t part of the script. Mila tried putting on Emma’s lipstick but also ended up scolding her because “you don’t suppose to eat it!” This got the cutest little giggle from her twin sister. Adorable!
Presenting the finished look!
Perfect! Okay, so the bread and neon yellow highlighter are deal breakers, but we do a have more helpful beauty guides. Hope this made you smile though.
