It's official and legal!
Bettinna Carlos and her husband Mikki Eduardo have two children: their first child Amina Elizabeth, who was born on December 12, 2022 (read here), and her panganay Amanda Lucia, nicknamed Gummy. The 11-year-old girl legally became an Eduardo through adoption, also in 2022.
Bettinna shared the good news last December 24, or a day before she turned 35. She explained in an Instagram post that "Mikki had to adopt Gummy" because "marriage does not make her automatically our legitimate child."
She added, "And we had to go through court not just for her surname-sa wakas hindi na 'N/A' ang middle initial/name niya. KUMPLETO NA ANG PANGALAN NG PANGANAY KO.
"But also to legitimize her status. Hindi na siya illegitimate (sakit nito sa dibdib sabihin but it WAS the truth)."
Bettinna said in a past interview with Smart Parenting that she was 23, just fresh out of college, and single when she got pregnant unexpectedly "with a man who was not my boyfriend at that time."

They got together as a couple, but didn't get married. Thus Gummy carried her mother's, and not her father's, surname. So her middle name was N/A, or not applicable.
The actress also said she and Gummy's biological father struggled in their relationship until they eventually parted ways (read here).
Over the years, Bettinna raised Gummy as a solo parent until she met Mikki, who treated her daughter like his own (read here). When Mikki proposed marriage to Bettinna, in fact, he also "proposed" to Gummy (read here).
The couple tied the knot on December 2, 2020 (read here), and they eventually settled down, with Gummy, in La Union, where Mikki had put up his businesses.
Fast-forward to 2022: Bettinna opened the year with a miscarriage but ended it with a new baby, Amina, and a new surname for Gummy. Plus, their businesses in La Union were expanding.
Bettina's heart is full of love and gratitude: "Salamat Panginoon sa mga GRASYANG ito- I dont and will never deserve any of these. But You chose to give them to me, to us anyway. So help us Lord. I know You sustain. And where You guide, You provide.
"Shower us Lord with provision of wisdom and strength and joy to steward all these blessings from You! Thank you Lord. I am content."
