  • Here's a story that will definitely brighten your day. A couple had a grandpa for a flower girl on their wedding day. Yes, he's a “flower grandpa”!

The bride, Jen Briskin, convinced her grandfather Stanley to walk down the aisle as a flower girl for her wedding to Austin Tansantisuk by sending him a very special invitation. She sent him a customized handkerchief embroidered with her rather quirky request.

“I always knew that I wanted him to play a special part in my wedding,” Briskin told BuzzFeed. “I walk around a nearby park with him every Sunday where we enjoy talking about the stock market, his days as a popular DJ in Savannah, and Fitbit. We have a Fitbit step competition every week, which he is very enthusiastic about!”

For his beloved granddaughter, the 85-year-old insisted on practicing for the big day by filling a basket with fake leaves and walking down with it on his driveway. Even with all that practice though, flower grandpa walked down the aisle throwing petals at the guests, much to the laughter of the seated friends and family.

“I am so lucky to have a grandfather who was able to walk down the aisle at my wedding,” Briskin said. “I am even luckier that he loves me so much that he would go along with my crazy ideas!”

    Way to go, Grandpa Stanley!
