This is how Gladys Reyes describes her happy ever after with husband Christopher Roxas.
They were still in their teens when they entered into a relationship in the year 1993. The two first met in the iconic Kapamilya teleserye Mara Clara, which starred Gladys and Judy Ann Santos. The show ran from August 1992 to February 1997.
On September 17, 2020, the actress shared a throwback photo on her Instagram account when she was just 14 years old and Christopher was 12 years old. “My childhood sweetheart then @christopherroxas, when he was 12 and I was 14 (kumusta naman ang pig tails ko),” Gladys recalls. “Now, fast forward to 27 years of togetherness. Have a stress-free day everyone!”
Boyfriend-girlfriend years
In an Instagram direct message exchange with PEP.ph, Gladys shared that back then, Christopher courted her for months. He wasn’t just a zealous suitor, he was also very generous.

The mom of four also recalled that her favorite ‘kilig’ moments with her husband include simply being together. Apart from being together at work at the start of their relationship, they also loved talking on the phone for hours with each other. “Just being together, ‘yun na ‘yung kilig moments,” Gladys says.
But on their seventh-year of being together, the couple decided to break off their relationship temporarily. It lasted for more than a month.
Gladys recalls, “He loves going out with friends, while I was a homebody.” She adds that she felt neglected by Christopher.
But the actor could not let go of Gladys. He soon realized that he could not bear losing the love of his life. “He courted me again,” says Gladys.
Christopher and Gladys were a couple for 11 years before they got married on January 23, 2004. They renewed their marriage vows on their “25th anniversary” in 2018, which includes their years as boyfriend and girlfriend.

The two also ensure that they make each other feel loved despite having four children together. “Compliment each other. We also try our best to have ‘just the two of us’ time despite having 4 kids,” Gladys shares.

In the comments section of Gladys’ post, other celebrities expressed their happiness seeing the couple’s enduring relationship.
Actress and fellow mom Camille Prats commented, “How cuteeeeee!!! How amazing to have met the love of your life early on ate and kuya [hug and heart emojis] goals!!!”
“Yes, Cams. Too good to be true but it happened,” Gladys replied.
Zsa Zsa Padilla, Tom Rodriguez, and Ryan Agoncillo also felt ‘kilig’, leaving heart emojis on the post.
