Heart, Chiz Share Tips How Not To Let Differences Ruin Your Relationship"As long as there is love and respect and separating is not an option, then you're good."by Angela Baylon .
They say opposites attract, but what happens when these differences start to hurt your relationship? Couple Heart Evangelista and Chiz Escudero offer some tips on how husbands and wives can handle individual differences to maintain a strong relationship.
In her Youtube vlog series called 'Adulting With Chiz,' Heart has been enlisting the wisdom of her husband to share helpful life lessons about money, career, or family to her viewers. In the latest episode, the power couple touched on the topic of love and relationship, more specifically about how couples can prevent conflicts brought by their contrasting personalities and beliefs.
If anything, Heart and Chiz are without a doubt qualified to advise about handling differences between partners. Both come from different career backgrounds, and while age doesn't really matter, they don't deny the fact that their 15-year age gap can sometimes be an issue.
The pair even revealed in the vlog that their wedding was almost put off after going through the counseling because they felt like they were not compatible.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
"We came in holding hands. We went out of that place, he didn't open the door for me," Heart notes "we thought that was the end...Napa-doubt talaga ako na 'Shocks, this is it. Hindi pala talaga.'"
But the couple, as we all know now eventually worked their way together and are continuously learning to handle their differences. Just last February, Heart and Chiz celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary.
Differences In Handling Arguments
While Heart tries to cool down and walks out when the argument becomes heated, Chiz, according to his wife, is the one who faces conflicts head-on and wants to talk it out.
Despite the differences in their approach, Chiz says it should not matter "as long as there is love and respect and separating is not an option, then you're good."
It's another way of saying that a relationship only works because you continue to choose the person and that entails choosing the other person in their entirety including traits that you may find are clashing with yours.
Differences In Love Language
Heart says Chiz's love language is service. "Siya (Chiz) talaga naglalaba sa states, siya naghuhugas ng pinggan, siya nagma-mop. Pati 'yung counter linis nang linis."
The actress adds, "Pero hindi siya very physical na malambing like that. Pero, you make sure everyone is okay. Hindi siya masyado ma-words of affirmation. He's just learning how to do that." Chiz quickly reacted and responded by saying, "But I have improved a lot."CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos

This only proves that couples need to find it to themselves to make justifiable adjustments for their partners here and there.
Describing Heart's love language, Chiz says, are gifts and touch. The politician says he's also learned to speak his wife's love language when it comes to touch.
Giving advice to other couples who seem to feel a disconnect when it comes to their love languages, Chiz has this to say:
"You can never force your love language on your partner...If you accept your partner's love language then his or her way of showing their love should fill up your tank instead of defining his love language or her language using your own."
"Once you accept, realize, and embrace his or her love language for you, then your love tank has a better chance of being filled."ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
They say falling in love is easier than staying in love. And it's true what Chiz said that disagreements are inevitable in any relationship. Plus, it takes more than just being attracted to your partner to make a relationship last.
As Heart and Chiz have been displaying, compromise and the conscious effort to continuously choose the person are the keys to a happy, long and healthy relationship.
