Kristine Hermosa On Focusing on Being A Wife and Mom: 'Gusto Ko Talaga Ng Family'Kristine and Oyo chose to put God and family above everything else.by Rachel Perez .
On Danica Sotto-Pingris's latest cooking vlog, KusiNica, Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Sotto shared a glimpse of their married life. The video was released on January 12, 2020. the couple's 9th wedding anniversary, which is also Oyo's birthday.
The couple played the Not-So-Newlywed Game,' answering lighthearted questions before Danica dug deep into what makes their marriage work as they raise their four kids, Kiel, Ondrea, Kaleb, and Vin, away from the spotlight.
Since tying the knot and being a mom, Kristine had opted to devote all her time at home as a wife and mom, only choosing a handful of showbiz projects to work on. Danica lauded her brother and especially her sister-in-law for giving marriage and motherhood an "all or nothing" shot.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
"Even before pa naman, kumbaga, yung nasa heart ko, alam talaga ni Lord na gusto ko talaga ng family," Kristine explained. "Kasi yun yung wala ako, yung intact, you know, yung alam mong sa'yo," Kristine explained. The mom of four was teary-eyed hearing Danica appreciating her efforts.
"Kaya nung bingay niya sa akin 'to, ano pang hihingiin mo, hindi mo pababayaan, diba," the mom of two added.
But as it takes two to tango, it's the same for marriage. Oyo did a lot of growing up, too, as Danica hinted in the video.
What makes Kristine and Oyo's not-a-perfect marriage work
So with nearly a decade together and parenting four kids, Kristine and Oyo had one lesson the sums up how they're making marriage work: There is no perfect marriage.
"Walang perfect days, walang perfect person, so you just need to really appreciate kung sino yung binigay sa iyo ni God and eventually grow together," Kristine shared, adding that she has learned to endure with Oyo's kakulitan and stubbornness.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
"Ganun din naman siya sa akin. Hindi din naman ako madaling kasama sa buhay," the mom of four admitted. "Pero natututunan namin yung isa't-isa na, you know, work together as a team."
It's not as easy as it sounds. "Kung akala nila naging smooth-flowing lahat, hindi. Siyempre maraming ups and downs, maraming heartaches. Hindi mo matatanggal yun," Oyo revealed. They also both learned to forgive and to be content.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
"Kailangan mo lang maging mapagpatawad, kailangan mong maging pasensyosyong tao kasi magkakamali at magkakamali ka," Oyo added. He also said that a marriage can only be perfect through God, with him at the center.
"Kailangan mo ring makuntento," Kristine said. "Hindi yung 'pag nahirapan ka na, move on to the next one Hindi
rin pwedeng trial and error na, 'Okay try ko muna. 'Pag medyo hindi na'ko kumportable, ayoko na.' Hindi pupuwedeng ganon," she said.
