'Pera Ni Mister, Pera Parin Ni Mrs Yun,' And Other Marco Alcaraz #AsawaTips Wives Love
  • 38-year old actor Marco Alcaraz has been posting funny #asawatips on Instagram, and wives can't help but notice.

Married to Miss International 2005 Lara Quigaman and father to three beautiful kids, Noah, Tobias and Moses, this 6.5 feet tall ex-basketball player has been getting nods from the women in our Smart Parenting community for his hilarous albeit meaningful posts about husband and wife relationships.

Whether daddy readers agree or not, we believe these pieces of advice, casual humor aside, have a lot of truth and sincerity to them. The more wives feel loved, the more love they can give back not only to their other halves, but even to their kids, family and friends.

So, here’s how husbands can make their wives feel appreciated, day in and out.

Top 10 asawa tips from Marco Alcaraz

    1. Give your wife time and resources for self-care.

Marco recently gave Lara a massage chair, and we all had a laugh when he explained why. “Pag ako kasi nagmamasahe sa kanya hinde natatapos.. kung saan saan napupunta,” he quips. In the same post, Marco emphasizes the importance of encouraging your partner to take time for self-care. “Lagi nyo dapat alagaan mga asawa nyo.. bigyan nyo sila ng me time.. para maalagan tayo at ang mga anak natin ng mabuti,” he says.

    2. Never fight over money.

“Malalaman mo na masaya ang pagsasama nyo mag-asawa kung may respeto, tiwala at hindi pinag-aawayan ang pera,” says Marco in his post. “Kaya pag pera ni Mrs pera nya yun at kapag pera ni Mr pera parin ni Mrs yun.” Wives, do you agree?

    3. Compliments go a long way.

Marco’s sweet words for Lara can definitely melt a woman’s heart and keep it from becoming cold. Well-meaning and well-timed compliments can lessen tension and uplift moods. Use it wisely.

    4. Find ways to revive the honeymoon stage.

Marriages usually lose the thrill and romance of the 'honeymoon stage' as the years go by. But it doesn’t have to be this way, according to Marco. “Dapat laging bagong kasal ang pag trato nyo sa asawa nyo para mas lalong tumamis ang pagsasama ninyo,” he says. Here, Nico Bolzico shares tips on how to keep the romance alive even after having a baby.

    5. Stick to one partner.

“Stick to one like a bubble gum,” Marco points out. Remember, annulments are long, tedious and expensive and adultery and concubinage are crimes that can lead to a maximum imprisonment sentence of four to six years. Be warned.

    6. Help with the daily chores.

“Pag sinabi ni Misis "Maglinis!", maglinis agad, at wag na hintayin magalit pa siya. At kahit hindi naman sabihin, I make sure I do my part to keep our home safe and germ free, especially now that it's Cold and Flu season,” reminds Marco. What a delight it would be to find the house dust-free, the dishes clean and dry, and the newly washed clothes all folded up in their proper places before catching the husband play his favorite online game, right?

    7. Settle misunderstandings as soon as possible.

“Normal lang sa mag-asawa ang mag away at magkatampuhan. Pero siguraduhin na pag usapan kaagad ito pra hindi na lumaki. Kasi pag lumaki naku baka lumaki din ang tiyan ni mrs at masundan si bunso.  agree po ba kayo?” Well, whether fights lead to “intense nights” or not, we can agree that it needs to be settled rather than let whatever misunderstanding fester over time and become worse than how it originally was. As the old saying goes, “Lahat nadadaan sa mabuting usapan.”

    8. Humility is key.

Humility begins with self-acceptance and self-confidence, and is best taught by example. Marco Alcaraz demonstrates this character trait when he acknowledges that he needs divine guidance in leading his family. “I’m not the best dad and husband, but i’m giving it my best. Learning to take life one day at a time. And that’s all that God calls us to do. My fam loves me unconditionally, even with all my flaws. God has blessed me with more than I deserve,” he shares in this sincere post.

No one is perfect, and it takes a lot of humility to acknowledge and work on our weaknesses. It also takes a grateful heart to stay motivated despite being aware of our shortcomings. So, count your blessings even as you note your failures. It’s always best to keep a healthy balance of both humility and gratefulness.

    9. Intimacy is important.

Whether it's emotional intimacy through date nights, or physical intimacy through meaningful sex, husbands can take the lead in maintaining a strong bond between partners. “Continue to date and continue to treat her like my girlfriend. Don’t stop doing things na ginagawa nyo nung nagsisimula pa lng kayo,” Marco advises in a post. “Kapag sinabi ng asawa nyo hubad.. mag hubad kaagad para walang away,” he also quips in another post.

    10. Spell it out in words, as well as actions.

Each one has a different way of receiving and giving love, and understanding your partner’s love language will increase the chances of making each other feel loved. Sometimes, the little things that you do to help around the house doesn’t make as much impact as a simple hug. Sometimes, a public confession of love through an IG post can reset her mood and bring back the romance of your early years.
