Megan Young and Mikael Daez have been together for 13 years. They are among this generation's most admired couples because of their openness and acceptance of each other's quirks and uniqueness.
In an interview in Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, the celebrity couple got real about the issue of cheating. For Megan, she's made it clear that her non-negotiable in their relationship is only one thing.
"My non-negotiable was no cheating. If ever na mag-cheat ka, then wala na yung relationship," the Miss World 2013 said.
To Mikael, there are two non-negotiables that he believes are the core of their marriage. "First is complete honesty. It doesn't have to be instant but we have to continuously build towards that. Yung pangalawa dun, is you need to be able to take care of yourself."
"Kaya hindi kami nawawalan ng gana sa isa't-isa kasi kung saan saan napupunta and willing ako pumunta kung nasaan man sya, willing siya pumunta kung nasaan ako."
The couple was firm that if anyone of them cheats, they should be accountable for the consequences of their actions.

Megan said the infidelity traces back to many incidents of dishonesty. "Paano nangyari 'yun in the first place. Una palang hindi siya naging honest so nabreak na yung pinaka-core which is honesty. Sige naging honest ka at that point na nagconfess ka bago pa nun dishonest ka noon."
Mikael meanwhile explained why we should stop blaming infidelity on being marupok. "We are humans, we make mistakes but we need to be able to accept the consequences and minsan masakit yung consequences. At the end of the day, life goes on eh, so para sa akin, sometimes the consequences, sa sobrang sakit dala mo habang buhay."

How to keep them interested in each other
Despite being together for a long time, Mikael said when there's honesty and open communication in a relationship, it's very easy to support each other's interests.

While the two were opposites, Mikael being very techie and adventurous, while Megan is more chill and is a huge K-pop fan, they shared that supporting each other's interests and compromise is key in preserving peace in their marriage.
"Thats one of the biggest strengths of our relationship kaya hindi kami nawawalan ng gana sa isa't-isa kasi kung saan saan napupunta and willing ako pumunta kung nasaan man sya, willing siya pumunta kung nasaan ako." Mikael said.
Megan added, "Eto yung mga bagay na kinahihiligan ng asawa ko. Eto yung mga bagay na nakakapagpasaya sa kanya, bakit ko sya pipigilan eh wala naman siyang sinasaktang ibang tao. I let him enjoy and he lets me enjoy, harmony."
Boy Abunda threw a hypothetical question to Megan if she would grab an opportunity to date his favorite BTS member over a planned dinner date with her husband. She said she would go on the date.

He explained, "Para sa akin, me and Megan we've been so blessed, I've really learned to cherish and really see the importance and value of a unique experience - that becomes a memory."
"Because we love each other, she can share that to a certain extent masasagap ko yung vibes ng experience na yun eh," he added.
In the end, the two were asked to share their vows for each other.
Mikael told Megan, "I vow to always make the most out of life with you - in the good times and bad times."
Megan meanwhile said, "I will always work towards being better and better every day."
