Cebu Couple's Fun Prenup Shoot Is All About Being Batang Pinoy In The '90sLife was so simple and laidback then!by Kitty Elicay .
A prenuptial or prenup shoot allows couples to introduce their love story to their wedding guests and these days, Pinoy couples have become more creative in choosing out-of-the-box ideas for their engagement sesh. For newlyweds Jeannette and Kevin Fiel, it was about reliving the “Batang ‘90s.”
The two are childhood sweethearts who got together in their third year of high school. After 14 years, they got engaged in June 2020 and got married last January 8, 2021.
“Naisipan namin ‘yung ‘Batang ‘90s’ [prenup shoot] kasi we want to relive our childhood memories. Naglalaro sa labas, nagtatakbuhan,” Kevin shares in an interview with Summit Videos. “Kasi before there was no Internet, no computers, no smartphones. We just go out and play.”
Not only was their theme cost-efficient — they only spent Php9,000 for the shoot — they also had a lot of fun playing classic larong pinoy like jolen, dampa, teks, jackstones, luksong baka, and more.
“We want to feel that moment again noong mga bata pa kami, kung gaano kasaya noong ‘90s,” Kevin says, adding that nostalgia hit them hard while they were taking the photos. “’Yung feeling na, ‘Ay! Ang sarap parang bata na naman ako.’”ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
They think their engagement shoot can also help this generation’s children see how simple and laidback life was back then. Even without gadgets, they were already happy playing in the streets with their friends.CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
“Most of the children nowadays are hooked [on] social media, gadgets. Hindi na nakikipaglaro sa labas kasi nasa cellphone na. iba talaga noon compared sa ngayon,” Kevin says.
“Gusto naming ma-remember ng mga tao kung gaano lang ka-simple ‘yung buhay namin noon. Naglalaro lang sa labas, nagbabahay-bahayan, naglulutu-lutuan kasama ‘yung mga kaibigan mo,” he adds.
