Great businesses solve problems, and that's exactly what John Ryan Pangilinan and his team thought of when they came up with their product, the Burger Bomb, with just a capital of P5,000 to P10,000.
"Iniisip namin, ano ba 'yong puwede naming i-offer sa ating mga nagtatrabaho on their laptops or while they are driving?" the Burger Bomb operations manager tells the OG team.

"At the same time, kahit isang kamay lang 'yong gamit mo [ay okay lang], and kayang-kaya mo naman siyang kainin."
They first set up their commissary kitchen in 2019 in a garage in a Las Piñas home. At that time, the team was made up of only five to ten members ensuring that each Burger Bomb met their standards of quality.

Things took a sudden turn when the pandemic hit in 2020—food businesses everywhere had to bear the impact of new dining protocols. "One of the major factors na naging struggle namin during the pandemic is 'yong restrictions coming from IATF," John Ryan recalls.
"Hindi na puwede mag-dine in. Even the al fresco [naging] puro takeout na lang. So 'yong mga ibang brands namin is nagkaro'n ng downfall."
Not one to back down from a challenge, John Ryan saw the situation as an opportunity.

Bring your crazy ideas to life
Just like any other food business, John Ryan and his team initially struggled to introduce Burger Bomb to the market. Unfazed, they took each setback as an opportunity to learn and refine their plans.
"In life, it's either you win or you learn," John Ryan shares.
