    It doesn't have to be grand. Hindi kailangang mabaon sa utang. Hindi kailangang bilhin lahat ng gamit nang minsanan.

    Prioritize only the things that you need. Go for minimalism kung kaya—less gastos sa gamit, more space.

    I live with my husband in a house with an 80sqm floor area, sa isang 120sqm na lote. Ang lot purchase at house construction ay sa pamamagitan ng PAG-IBIG.

    Almost two years ang hinintay namin, mula sa loan application hanggang sa house construction. Nag-boarding house kami habang naghihintay. We did not live in our in-laws to practice independence and responsibility na kaakibat ng pagdedesisyon naming magpakasal.

    Sa isang simpleng subdivision dito sa Davao kami nakatira. P3,500 monthly ang ibinabayad namin para sa bahay — 25 years to pay. Not bad for a middle income earner. What's comforting is we pay for a house na sa amin talaga.

    Our in-laws encouraged us to own a house dahil masakit sa bulsa kapag nagre-rent ng isang bahay na hindi naman mapapasaiyo sa huli.

    Taon 2017 nang ikasal kami. Taong 2018 naman nang maghanap kami ng bakanteng lote sa isang subdivision. Lote pa lang kasi ang kaya ng budget namin.

    We were able to get a lot that was sold for Php400,000. Nagapatulong kami sa isang officer sa PAG-IBIG na may listahan ng mga bakanteng lupa.

    Kaya lang, wala kaming spot cash kaya nag-ipon kami sa loob ng isang taon. Ang 50% sa pera namin ay galing sa nakuha naming cash gift noong ikinasal kami. Pagkatapos noon, nabili na namin ang lupa.

    Taong 2019 naman nagsimula ang construction ng bahay. Bago iyon, pinayuhan kami na mag-Lot Purchase Loan sa PAG-IBIG dahil mas mabilis na proseso raw iyon kaysa sa housing loan.

    Iyon ang ginawa namin, ngunit hindi madali. Napakaraming mga papeles, napakarami naming pinagdaanan.

    Magbibigay naman ang PAG-IBIG ng mga hakbang na kailangan ninyong gawin, pero asahan niyo nang magiging mahaba ang proseso.

    Inabot kami ng halos siyam na buwan bago na-release ang loan namin sa halagang Php750,000 na mababayaran sa loob ng 25 years with Php3,500 monthly amortization.

    Sa parehong taon, ginamit na namin ang loan para masimulan ang pagpapagawa ng bahay. Kung susumahin namin, 70% Hardiflex at 30% na semento ang bahay. Hindi pa kasi kaya ng budget kung 100% concrete.

    Start small, expect that the process is not easy. Work together and everything else will fall into place.
