  • 28 Days to Christmas!

    The classic carbonara takes just 10 minutes to prepare.

    • 250 grams bacon, diced
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
    • 1½ cups all purpose cream
    • ¾ cup chopped basil
    • 1 kilo cooked penne
    • 3 eggs, beaten
    • ¼ cup grated quickmelt cheese
    • Salt and pepper to taste



    1. In large skillet, cook bacon until slightly crisp; set aside.
    2. Heat olive oil.
    3. Add onion, and cook over medium heat until translucent. Add garlic and tomatoes; cook for 1 minute. Add cream and basil.
    4. Mix in penne.
    5. Add eggs, tossing constantly with tongs or large fork until eggs are barely set. Add cheese, and toss again. Add salt and pepper to taste.
    6. Serve with some parsley on top.
