After five years, the ABS-CBN Ball is back. Held at the Makati Shangri-La last September 30, it is said to be one of the biggest and most prestigious events in the Philippine entertainment industry. And this year's ball welcomed many firsts, especially for celebrity parents.
Here's a roundup of the best moments of the celebrity parents we love at the ABS-CBN Ball 2023.
Memorable moments of celebrity parents at the ABS-CBN Ball 2023
1. Judy Ann recreates family photo
The Ball is the first major gathering of Kapamilya stars post-COVID-19 pandemic. Award-winning actress and mother of three, Judy Ann Santos Agoncillo, along with her husband, Ryan Agoncillo, officially opened the red carpet event.
On Instagram, Judy Ann shared a family photo taken during the last ball in 2018, and their recreated version with their three kids all grown up. How time flies!
Trivia: Ryan rewore his suit from his daughter Yohan's debut party last year!
2. First-Time Moms Jessy Mendiola, Iza Calzado, Angelica Panganiban
The ball became the first major event for new moms who welcomed their first babies. Jessy Mendiola looked stunning and expensive in her "vampire's wife" inspired look. She said, "It felt so good getting glammed up after a long time. This momma finally got her night out but won't deny that I kept checking on Rosie the WHOLE time."
The ball was Jessy and Luis' first major event as parents.
Iza Calzado and her husband, Ben Wintle, were able to take a break from their parental duties. The 41-year-old new mama, who gave birth to Deia Amihan just 8 months ago, shared how she picked her outfit.
"Deciding on a look for any ball, especially one as big as the ABS-CBN Ball, is always stressful. I often overthink and fall into the trap of making it extravagant versus just looking and feeling good in my outfit."

Iza was happy with her look and thanked her glam team who "took on the mission of making this mama feel beautiful and sexy for the ABS-CBN Ball."
Angelica Panganiban, whose daughter, Amila Sabine, just turned one, didn't miss the red carpet event. Like Iza, she wore a flattering black gown with a high slit, showing off her toned legs.
JC de Vera and his wife Rikkah de Vera welcomed their second daughter in June, and the couple looked amazing as they took a little time out to enjoy the night.
Mamas Janella Salvador and Sofia Andres also slayed with their outfits, and both appeared on the cover of the magazine's pre-ball issue.
