Aga Muhlach Says Fatherhood Made Him Realize, 'May Mga Bagay Na Off Nang Gawin'

The 48-year-old actor gave his fans a glimpse of his life after he became a dad, admitting fatherhood instilled discipline in him. "As your kids grow up, there are things na medyo off nang gawin," Aga said during his guesting in the ABS-CBN morning talk show Magandang Buhay. He shared that he and his wife, beauty queen Charlene Gonzales, made sure that they are always there for their twins Andres and Atasha. "But hindi kami hovering parents na we'd be in control of our chidlren," Aga stressed. He said that at the age of 15 turning 16, he lets them experience life the way they want to. 

The proud dad also shared how important it is for them as parents to instill in their children the value of hard work. "Alam din ng mga anak namin na, now that they're old already, hindi sila nag-iisip ng material, ng mana, ng ganyan because naturuan namin sila na kung ano'ng amin ay amin. Kayo kung may gusto kayo, wala kayong makukuha from us. You would have to experience life and work for it," Aga said. He says he encourages Atasha and Andres to be true to themselves, whether it's being an artist, the president of a company, or an employee. "Mabuhay kayo sa totoo lang... tahakin mo yan kasi masaya pa rin yan, walang masama," he added. 

Aga also talked about being a dad at 17 to his eldest son Luigi (with actress Janice de Belen). Luigi, now a dad of three, may not have grown up in a traditional family, but Aga couldn't be more proud and happy for his son. "What makes me happy and proud is the way Luigi is as a father and as a husband. No one can ever put you down as long as you protect your family, the world cannot damage you," he said.

Awww! Zion surprises mom Sarah on her 24th birthday!

The blooming preggo called it the highlight of her birthday. "After I picked @officialziongutz [Zion] up from school, I sent him home so he can take a nap, but apparently he went behind my back with dada and decided to surprise me at the gym," Sarah captioned her Instagram video, which shows Zion delivering a large bouquet of flowers to Sarah as she worked out in the gym. You could hear that the birthday girl was a little out of breath as she received her surprise gift. 

"Looking forward to a bright future with you my love. May God continue to bless your heart and guide us on our journey together. I wish you the best of what the world has to offer in parallel with the spiritual growth that God can offer," her fiance, actor Richard Gutierrez, wrote as caption for one of their engagement photos. The breastfeeding emoji will now be on iPhones! 

Apple announced on October 6 that the breastfeeding emoji, along with hundreds of new emojis for the iPhone, will be available this week with the iOS 11.1 update. It will also include emojis such as a woman with a headscarf, and the Love-You Gesture, designed after the 'I love you' hand sign in American Sign Language, among others. According to the company's statement, "the new emoji are designed to reveal every detail and adapted from approved characters in Unicode 10". In July, it was announced that breastfeeding will be included in the new batch of emojis, in response to a request made by a nurse in 2016. (parents.com)

Recall alert: Playtex Plates and Bowls for Kids

Playtex plates and bowls' clear plastic layer over the cartoon graphic designs have a tendency to peel and bubble, posing a choking hazard for kids. Consumerist reports that since September, there have been 372 cases of the plastic film peeling off. Of those, eleven have ended up in children’s mouths, while four have caused choking. The company has advised consumers who have bought the product to stop using them immediately. The affected products include Playtex plates and bowls, sold in sets or separately, which come in a variety of colors and designs, and which were purchased between October 2009 and October 2017. Baby care brands discontinue selling of sleep positioners after deaths warning

Baby care brands in the U.K. such as Mothercare, John Lewis, Boots, and Tesco have stopped selling baby positioners after it was found that these increase the risk of babies younger than six months for sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). However, these so-called "sleep aids" could still be available from other retailers. The Lullaby Trust, a cot death charity that advises the National Health Service (NHS) in the U.K., stresses that sleep positioners, even those that claim to help a baby sleep, are dangerous. 

The warning comes after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had released another statement warning parents that those items are not safe for babies. These "nests," "bolsters," or "anti-roll" sleep products "can cause suffocation that can lead to death," and have been linked to 12 infant deaths in the U.S. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommended that infants sleep on their backs, positioned on a firm, empty surface. This surface should not contain soft objects, toys, pillows, or loose bedding. (bbc.com)
