Annabelle Rama's Marriage Advice To Sarah Lahbati: Stop Being Jealous

Three years ago, in March 2017, Richard Gutierrez proposed to Sarah Lahbati while on a hike in Zermatt, Switzerland, Sarah's birthplace. After a long engagement, mainly due to finishing an acting project and welcoming a second son, the two will finally tie the knot in March 2020. 

On ABS-CBN's morning talk show Magandang Buhay, the Gutierrez matriarch Annabelle Rama offered a piece of raw and honest marriage advice for the mother of her two apos, Zion and Kai. 

"Ang message ko kay Sarah, tigilan mo na ang pagseselos kasi ikakasal ka na," Annabelle said without hesitation. She and husband Eddie Guttierez were also guests o the talkshow that featured Richard and Sarah's road to getting hitched.

The talent manager admitted she couldn't blame Sarah for supposedly feeling jealous at times because they're very much the same. Sarah wants to be with Richard, as Annabelle did when she married her husband. Eddie also pointed out he and his wife already had two kids when they got hitched.

"Kung gusto niyang magtagal sila ni Richard, 'wag na siya magseselos tapos kapag mainit ulo nung isa, dapat magpasensya na siya," added Annabelle, who's been married to Eddie for nearly 40 years. "Para magtagal, 'wag niyang salubungin ang init ng ulo. Yan ang lagi kong sinasbi kay Sarah," she stressed. 

Lamenting that couples' marriages today easily crumble after only a year, the mother of six also extended her advice to all married women to help their marriage last.

Sarah once said that she and her future mother-in-law have misunderstandings, but they're just as normal as any other relationship with family. “It’s normal naman na meron, kung wala naman e hindi totoong relationship po ‘yon,” she said, adding that they easily patch things up after. 

"Thank you, Tita. I love you as my own mom. And I'm happy na we're this close," the bride-to-be said in reply to Annabelle's advice. "I'm happy na I can talk to you about anything. Dalawa na kayo ng mama ko," Sarah added.

The mom of two also defended Annablle from her bashers saying she's too strict or mataray. "Si Tita ganyan yan, akala niyo baka nakakatakot sa ibang tao or matapang, pero sa family sa mga kaibaingan, sobrang maalagain," she stressed. 

"Wala naman kaming hinihinigi sa kanya, darating nalang siya sa bahay na ang daming dala sa amin lahat, sa mga bata," Sarah recalled. 

Sarah also expressed her love for her future father-in-law, Eddie. She and Richard also thanked him and Annabelle for many thing they've done for their family, especially the kids.
