'Blippi' Actor Stevin John Welcomes First Child: 'It Has Been Heaven Having Him With Us!'

Youtube educational content creator Stevin John, more popularly known as 'Blippi,' is currently on paternity leave as he and his fiancee Alyssa Ingham welcomed their firstborn son!

Elated to share the good news, Stevin published some photos of his first child on Instagram. He also revealed the name and birthday of his baby boy through his post.

"Lochlan David John. 3/9/22. Your mother and I love you so much! Welcome to the world!," the 33-year-old actor wrote in his caption.

"I am very excited to teach our own child the curiosities and joys of life."

"He is so cute. We love him so much! It has been heaven having him with us!," Stevin said, breaking the news to Parents.

Stevin and Alyssa first announced that they're expecting their first child together in October 2021, a couple of months after sharing their engagement. And on Valentine's Day 2022, the longtime couple revealed they are having a boy.

Being a first-time parent

Stevin was inspired to create educational content for kids online because of his then-toddler nephew. He uploaded his first 'Blippi' content in 2014, and 7 years later, his Youtube channel has amassed over 15 million subscribers.

When asked if being 'Blippi' helped him prepare as he takes on a new role as a first-time dad, Stevin answered in the affirmative. "Definitely. "I know what kids' interests are more now. And having met so many kids throughout the years, I feel more in tune with how kids act in their younger years," he told Parents.

He also feels nothing but excitement now that he has found a new inspiration for his videos.

"Since I'm a very curious person and want to learn everything—that's why Blippi videos are the way they are—I am very excited to teach our own child the curiosities and joys of life."

He adds, "I think having my own child in the Blippi age will make it really special and even more exciting."

Taking on paternity leave

According to Parents, Stevin took a break from filming content for Blippi two weeks before their March 4 due date. He also plans to have at least a month off work now to be a present father to Baby Lochlan.

But no need to worry kids and parents! Blippi made sure not to leave his Youtube subscribers hanging. "Stevin has filmed three week-long trips before taking his time off for paternity leave," Alyssa shared.

For sure many kids and parents will look forward to Blippi's new content in the coming days as its actor gains a newfound insipiration and motivation being a father!
